OVERVIEW
Over the last 35+ years, Vernier has perfected the development and production of affordable, easy-to-use data-acquisition products for science classrooms and labs around the world. In my role as Digital Marketing Manager at Mambo Media, we partnered with the marketing team at Vernier to redesign their website experience. On this project, I refreshed their overarching brand, design the visual/UI elements of their website, and create a thoughtful user experience through each page.
To kick-off the project, I co-facilitated a discovery session with the client with an agenda of hands-on visual thinking exercises to uncover their needs and their users’ unique preferences.
With the team’s business goals and customer input, refreshed and updated Vernier’s visual branding elements to stay consistent with their current logo but help establish them as a more playful, friendly, and modern brand in the digital space—this process included building mood boards, presenting and soliciting feedback from the client, and creating additional brand assets. From there, I created clear and succinct brand guidelines document to provide guidance for future print and digital pieces.
With the new brand direction in hand, I designed and presented overall look-and-feel for website that met the company’s business goals and and appealed to the needs of their audience. I then built clear and succinct web guidelines to hand-off design elements to development team and partnered closely with them to create efficiencies in the design/development process, including the creation of new hand-off deliverables and documentation.
